Ash Cooper Western Artist

The people of Senlac, Saskatchewan learned early that they could become the subject of a cartoon when Ash Cooper was around!

A self-taught western artist, Ash finds his inspiration in his ranching roots, whether it is tongue-in-cheek for a cartoon, or drawing on the emotional side of life for his graphite, pen and ink or watercolour pieces.

Life as a rodeo entertainer provides time on the road to paint and sketch, but it is his life as a rancher that brings out the artist in Ash Cooper. His most popular pieces reflect his love of the lifestyle and appeal to an audience who appreciate the values and spirit of the west.

When it comes to humourous artworks, Ash Cooper is one of the Leanin' Tree's favourite artists and his cartoons can be found on greeting cards, notepads, coffee mugs and more. Ash is an award-winning member of Cowboy Cartoonists International and regularly exhibits his artwork at Canadian Finals Rodeo and the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.
